  • In turn, the mail and couriers were brought to a record high by the pandemic, with the turnover of companies providing postal and courier services estimated to exceed the threshold of 6.6 billion lei, as a result of online demand. increased.
  • With the exception of the verticals affected by the effects of the pandemic, such as Horeca or Travel, the local e-commerce sector has experienced accelerated growth, with Romania being among the EU countries with the highest annual growth rate of online trade, which shows significant potential in the future, in a market that has not yet reached the level of maturity of other countries in northern and western Europe.
  • According to the Eurostat report published in January 2021, 85% of Romanians have used the Internet at least once in the last 12 months, and 45% of Internet users have made at least one online purchase in the last 12 months.
